Dr. Yi-Hung Chen is a Professor in the Graduate Institute of Acupuncture Science and the Associate Dean of the College of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Chen obtained his Ph.D. in the Pharmacology Institute, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. In 2007, 2009 and 2012 he was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Pharmacology, Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, U.S.A. From 2017 to 2019, he was the Secretary-In-General of the Neuroscience Society of Taiwan. Since 2018, Dr. Chen has served as the Associate Dean of the College of Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Chen has published several review articles and book chapters, and translated the “WHO Standard Acupuncture Point Locations in the Western Pacific Region (2008)” into Chinese. His review articles and book chapters concern the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion, neuroprotective effects of acupuncture, and the control group design of acupuncture clinical trials, acupuncture analgesia research in Taiwan and acupuncture for opiate treatment.

His recent study, concerning the non-opioid acupuncture analgesia mechanisms, was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States in 2018.

He was awarded the “Outstanding Professor of China Medical University” in 2019.
