The college of Chinese Medicine of China Medical University and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University held a bilateral seminar to carry out transnational research cooperation on acupuncture.

We and Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Germany jointly held a bilateral seminar on November 24, 2022. It is a great honor to invite Dominik Irnich, a professor and chairman of the German Physician Association of Acupuncture, and the Multidisciplinary Pain Treatment Center Dr. Petra Bäumler came to our school to participate in the meeting and published the research results of acupuncture at the University of Munich.

In this exchange, a total of 6 speakers from the school and the affiliated hospital presented the research results of acupuncture , including Director Hung-Rong Yen of the International Master Program in Acupuncture(and College of Chinese Medicine, China Medical University); Vice Dean Yi-Hung Chen of College of Chinese Medicine, China Medical University (and Professor of the International Master Program in Acupuncture), and Deputy Director Peter Karl Mayer of International Master Program in Acupuncture, China Medical University.

The seminar also invited Vice President Lu-Hai Wang of China Medical University to deliver a speech, opening a new prelude to the transnational research cooperation between the two universities.

With the arrival of Professor Dominik Irnich and Dr. Petra Bäumler, they were invited to visit the Lifu Museum. The guides were asked to introduce the characteristics of Chinese medicine science, so as to enhance the education, research and promotion of Chinese medicine. During their visit to Taiwan this time, Director Yu-Chen Lee of Graduate Institute of Acupuncture, who arranged a one-day trip to Taichung, taking them to experience tea drinking culture, visit the Le Cheng Temple, and eat Taiwanese food, leaving a deep impression on German scholars.

Under the joint leadership of Director Yen , the research field of Chinese medicine at China Medical University is actively in line with international standards, promoting cooperation and exchanges between teachers and students and international top academic institutions and well-known scholars, and expecting to facilitate the clinical trials of acupuncture, Tai Chi, big data and basic mechanism research and other four major research themes, forming multiple research teams to carry out further bilateral cooperation between the two schools.
